There are a number of tours that are offered exclusively for adults in most tourist destinations across the world. In these adult travel packages, children are of course not welcome as most of the activity would not be catering to their requirements. They would feel out of place and would be better off staying at home. Many of the tours and cruises to summer destinations around the world offer such packages exclusively for adults. For instance, many of the cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean have such adult packages. Many of the Eastern European countries also offer tours purely for adults. The exclusivity of these tours makes it more expensive than most of the other general tours.

Tours catering to the adult crowd are fairly different from other types of tours. For instance, there are no children to take care of in tours meant solely for adults. There is no need to organize special programs to keep children entertained either. The safety precautions needed to be followed when children are around also need not be taken into consideration. Moreover when parents do not have to worry about their children, they can devote more time towards their spouse and generally have a good time together. Many parents enjoy a second honeymoon during such vacations as these, where they have a chance to be away from their children for a while. In a way, it also becomes easy for the tour operators to handle tours without the children around. But on the other hand, children represent numbers. The more people they have on board, the more revenue the tours would generate. To compensate for the lack of children who would otherwise fill up the tour, the cost of the tickets on these special tours is hiked up considerably.

Most of the action on board is catered to meet adult requirements. There is a lot of action and fun. People have a chance to make new friends. The circle of acquaintance can be widened considerably. People also get to visit places along the tour that specifically cater to adults. Adult travel could be a very different form of experience than the ones that a person is normally used to.
