What You Should Know On Canada Rental Cars?

Canada is one of the most industrialized countries in the world and a perfect cheap vacation for those who love outdoor exploration. The car rental companies whose offices are located outside the airports tend to charge less than their counterparts. It is good to rent a car in Canada in advance. One of the ways of saving on the cars is to book online. Online car rental is usually cheaper and much faster. Moreover, you can compare the services, cars, prices and other components of the car rental package that different companies offer and choose the one you prefer.

While a company’s quotation may be cheap, take note of any elements you will be required to pay for when taking your car. Some of the things to look out for include per kilometer charge, renter fees for those over 21 years but under 25 years, Provincial Sales Tax, extra per kilometer charge if you will be driving outside the province, location fee for premium places, 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax), one-way drop-off fee, and so on.

Rental cars Canada companies have different pricing for mileage covered outside the province, and may track your driving using GPS. It is therefore important to ensure that the Terms and Conditions of the company are outlined in written form and signed by both parties.

Getting a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is also a prudent step when vacationing in Canada. Check whether your credit card company will provide this when you use their card to pay for the car rental. Check also whether your car insurance policy extends its cover to rental cars as well. This will make you spend less on covers. If CDW is not provided by your credit card company or car insurance company, you will have to purchase it on its own and this can be slightly costly.

If vacationing in Quebec, the Canada rental cars firms will provide you with cars with snow tires. This is the only province in Canada where snow tires are required by law.
